Technical Writer

Join Exigent Services as a Technical Writer and be part of a dynamic team that supports the Defense Suicide Prevention Office (DSPO) directorates in Alexandria, VA with subject matter expertise in the areas of analyzing trends and patterns in suicide prevention data, developing and evaluating evidencebased prevention programs, collaborating with military and civilian stakeholders to implement initiatives, providing expert consultation on social work practices related to suicide prevention, and contributing to policy development and program improvement efforts.

The Technical Writer will:

Prepare comprehensive documentation for various aspects of the project
▪ Draft the project report, ensuring clarity and coherence
▪ Compile findings from research and analysis into well-structured documents
▪ Develop recommendations based on project outcomes and present them in a clear, actionable format
▪ Collaborate with project team members to gather necessary information for documentation
▪ Ensure all written materials adhere to project standards and guidelines
▪ Edit and proofread documents for accuracy, consistency, and readability
▪ Create and maintain project-related templates and style guides as needed
▪ Assist in the development of presentation materials for stakeholder meetings
▪ Contribute to the creation of user-friendly materials for project participants
▪ Maintain organized records of all project documentation
▪ Adapt writing style to suit different audiences and purposes within the project scope

As Technical Writer, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree required (preferably in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field)
• One year of experience in technical writing or a related field
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
• Ability to translate complex information into clear, readable content
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint
• Experience in compiling and organizing research findings
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members
• Familiarity with military terminology and culture (preferred)
• Experience writing for government or defense-related projects (beneficial)
• Knowledge of mental health or psychology concepts (beneficial)
• Proficiency in data visualization tools
• Experience with document design and layout
• Familiarity with content management systems
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Adaptability to changing project requirements
